The aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine broke into the home of every Ukrainian, destroyed peaceful life and divided it into "before" and "after". The university complex was significantly damaged by rocket and artillery fire. Due to the difficult security situation, Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs relocated to Vinnytsia and Kamianets-Podilskyi to continue training future police officers.
Today, for the second time in our history, we celebrate the Day of Unity of Ukraine, established by the Decree of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy dated February 14, 2022. This was done, as we now know, exactly 10 days before the beginning of the large-scale invasion of Moscow sub-empire into our country.
On February 16, according to the Presidential Decree, a national holiday - Unity Day is celebrated in Ukraine. This date became a symbol of the unity of Ukrainians against a new act of aggression by Russia against Ukraine. A meeting of the scientific circle of the Department of Constitutional and International Law of the Faculty No. 4 on the topic "International legal consequences of Russia's violation of the principle of territorial integrity of Ukraine" took place. The meeting was attended by the head of the department, candidate of legal sciences Tetiana Hudz, the head of the research group, Candidate of Legal Sciences Oleksandr Radchenko, representatives of the scientific and pedagogical staff of the department.
Nataliia Horbach, a senior lecturer of the Department of Foreign Languages of the Faculty No. 4, held a meeting of the scientific group on the topic "The role of the Ukrainian police in the fight against Russian aggression." Andrii Khomiak, a first-year cadet of the Faculty No. 2, gave a speech in English and told that since the first days of Russia's invasion of Ukraine the police have been working in an intensified mode and are on duty in the controlled and de-occupied territories.
University representatives took part in the webinar "Chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear defense". The participants of the event learned about assessments of possible chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear threats; investigation of cases related to chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear threats; actions regarding threats and incidents related to chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear challenges.
On the eve of the Day of Unity, higher education graduates of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs took part in the presentation of the book "Burnt by War", which took place in the reading room of Vinnytsia Regional Scientific Universal Library named after V. Otamanovskyi.
KhNUIA representatives participated in the webinar in English "Crime prevention targeting high-risk victim groups" on the LEEd CEPOL online educational platform. The purpose of the webinar is to popularize the practice of crime prevention and spread quality knowledge about crime prevention in the EU countries.
