Resolution 1325 emphasizes the important role of women in the prevention and settlement of conflicts and in building peace, and also calls on member states to ensure a more active participation of women at all levels of decision-making in national, regional and international institutions, in mechanisms for the prevention, management and resolution of conflicts.
