The annual World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) is a global multilateral platform to support implementation of the World Summit on the Information Society`s lines of action to promote the Sustainable Development Goals, organized by the International Telecommunication Union (a specialized agency of the United Nations), UNESCO, UNDP and UNCTAD (a of the UN General Assembly) in close cooperation with all coordinators and facilitators of the WSIS Action Lines and other UN organizations.

The summit provides an opportunity of information exchange, new knowledge and best practices creation, while identifying new trends and fostering partnerships, taking into account information and developing societies. The theme of the WSIS 2023 Summit is the WSIS Action Lines to Enhance and Accelerate the Achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.

KhNUIA reported on the implementation progress of EQUALS-EU project, namely on overcoming systemic barriers that discriminate and put women in a disadvantageous position in scientific careers and decision-making, preventing further integration of gender scale into research environment, discussed issues related to the innovation camp. In addition, focus groups meetings were held.

All participants’ knowledge gained during the scientific conference and a summit they apply in educational process of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs.

Project scientific results will have their further development in scientific activity of higher education applicants and KhNUIA scientific and academic staff.

Note! In connection with the military aggression, the summer school for future leaders of gender innovations been shifted from the city of Kharkiv to the city of Riga. Moreover, representatives of KhNUIA were suggested coordinating the Summer school (part of the project) together with the Institute of Economics of the Latvian Academy of Sciences (Republic of Latvia).https://univd.edu.ua/uk/news/15599
