At Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, regional training on the fundamental principles of anti-corruption legislation for employees of territorial bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, establishments, institutions, and enterprises under the management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Kharkiv, Poltava, and Sumy regions took place. Valerii Sokurenko, Rector of the University, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Legal Sciences, Professor, Police General of the 3-rd Rank, Dmytro Shvets, First Vice-Rector of the University, Doctor of Legal Sciences, Associate Professor, Police Colonel, and Anatolii Fodchuk, Head of the Division of Corruption Prevention of the MIA of Ukraine started off the event.

In welcoming speech, Valerii Sokurenko emphasized the importance and practicality of such measures, the primary task of which was to raise the awareness of workers and employees of the security and defense sectors in preventing and combating corruption, deepening knowledge on the fundamental principles of anti-corruption legislation, familiarizing with international experience in integrity education, receiving methodological recommendations for organizing work to prevent and identify corruption.

Dmytro Shvets noted that issues related to preventing and combating corruption were critical. Therefore, not only university scientists are involved in the classes conduction, but also practitioners, including representatives of the Strategic Investigations Department.

"Achieving success in reforming the system of preventing and combating corruption is a prerequisite for building public confidence in the government, growing the economic potential of the state, improving the well-being of Ukrainian citizens", - Anatolii Fodchuk emphasized. He wished the participants of the event to make the most of their time to acquire new knowledge and skills necessary in their work.

Representatives of regional service centers, forensic institutions, medical institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, employees of KhNUIA participated in the event. Lectures were given by leading scientists of the University and experienced practitioners, in particular, Olena Syniavska, Doctor of Legal Sciences, Professor, Serhii Shatrava, Doctor of Legal Sciences, Professor, Vitalii Pchelin, Doctor of Legal Sciences, Associate Professor, Yurii Vapsva, Candidate of Legal Sciences, Associate Professor, Oleksandr Pabat, Candidate of Legal Sciences, Associate Professor, Iryna Panova, Candidate of Legal Sciences, Associate Professor, Kseniia Yurtaieva, Candidate of Legal Sciences, Associate Professor, Vadym Bairachnyi, Senior Investigator for Particularly Important Cases of the Strategic Investigations Department.
