The Ukrainian revolution, which began in 1917, had already made significant achievements in early 1918. Ukraine's statehood was restored in the form of the Ukrainian People's Republic, local authorities were established, education and culture were Ukrainized, but at the same time, there were significant miscalculations in the field of building its own army and law enforcement agencies.

On January 29, a lecture for students on "The feat of the Heroes of Krut" was held at the faculty № 6. The event was organized by the Dean of the Faculty Oksana Brusakova and the Head of the Department of Social and Humanitarian Disciplines, Professor Volodymyr Hrechenko. 

On the occasion of commemorating the Heroes of Kruty, the University Library presents an extensive book-illustrative exhibition "Kruty: through the prism of the past and present", which reveals the events of the battle of January 29, 1918, at the Kruty railway station.

A webinar on “Interpersonal skills for police officers who interact with citizens” will be held on February 3, 2021, from 12.30 to 02.00 p.m. The webinar will be conducted in English with consecutive translation into Ukrainian. The main speaker of the event is Yuriy Mihalkov, Adviser / Trainer on Community Policing from the EUAM Field Office in Kharkiv.

Oleksii Shumilo, Associate Professor of the Department of Legal Support of Economic Activity of the Faculty of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, took part in the 4-th International Scientific and Practical Conference "IT Law: Problems and Prospects for Development in Ukraine".

A new edition of the international ranking of world universities Ranking Web of Universities (Webometrics) has been published. The ranking is made by the National Research Council of Spain, which has been researching the world's universities for 18 years in a row, evaluating their performance through the indicators of the university's performance in the webspace.

A meeting of Serhii Bortnyk, Vice-Rector of the University, Police Colonel, with junior commanders of cadet units of the Faculties No.No. 1–4 took place within the framework of the School of Junior Commanders of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs.
