This year we celebrate the 210th anniversary of the birth of Taras Shevchenko. It is impossible to overestimate the role and place of the great Kobzar in the history of Ukraine, its culture, art, literature, and in the life of every Ukrainian. We have known him since childhood.

Every year on March 09, Ukraine and the world celebrate the birthday of the Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko. On this day, Taras Shevchenko's apt and piercing lines are widely spread. His sincere words are still very relevant today. The poet's words about freedom and our path to freedom seem more relevant today than ever before.

On the occasion of the 210th anniversary of the birth of the Great Kobzar, a poetic and literary teleconference was held at Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs: "Shevchenko speaks through the ages...".

To celebrate the 210th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Ukrainian poet, prose writer, public figure, artist Taras Shevchenko (1814-1861), the scientific library of KhNUIA prepared a virtual exhibition "Our thought, our song will not die, will not perish...".

Associate Professor of the Department of Social Sciences and Humanities, Candidate of Philological Sciences Natalia Kobylko held a video lecture "The Phenomenon of the Great Genius" for first-year students of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities.

Oleh Honcharuk, Associate Professor of the Department of Foreign Languages of the Faculty № 4 of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, senior lecturers Tetiana Kalchenko, Larysa Sazanova and lecturer Natalia Olendra - curators of the 1st and 2nd year groups of the same faculty - held conversations with the cadets on the occasion of the 210th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Ukrainian poet, prose writer, playwright, political and public figure and artist under the slogan "Unite souls with the word of Kobzar!".

Among the immortal classics of Ukraine, Taras Shevchenko has taken a high and very special place. Without exaggeration, he became a kind of icon for Ukrainians, a prophet who showed us the thorny path to the future through fire and struggle. In his poems, he captured all the pain, thoughts, feelings, history, and experience of his people, skillfully expressing them in sensual verse that resonates in the hearts of his descendants through the ages.

At Sumy branch of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, a competition "Shevchenko's Readings" was held among applicants for higher education in online and offline formats on the occasion of the 210th anniversary of the birth of the great son of the Ukrainian people Taras Shevchenko.

On the 210th anniversary of the birth of the Great Kobzar, students of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs attended the musical and theatrical performance "I will rise now. I will exalt" in the city of Kamianets-Podilskyi.
