Oleksii Serdiuk, Head of the Research Lab for Social and Psychological Support, Accompaniment, and Rehabilitation at Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs (KhNUIA), participated in a crucial stakeholder consultation organized by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). The event focused on veteran reintegration as a key element in developing effective strategies to combat organized crime in Ukraine.

The first meeting of the group was joined by new applicants for higher education who expressed a desire to plunge into the world of criminal law and criminology. The head of the student group, Associate Professor of the Department Yaroslav Lantinov outlined the organizational issues of the scientific association, familiarized the new members with the rules and regulations of its activities.

The event “Scientific Readings in Memory of Colonel-General of the Internal Service Ivan Vasylovych Shtanko” was attended by Volodymyr Ivantsov, Head of the Department of Organization of Educational and Scientific Training (Doctoral and Postgraduate Studies), Daniil Zinchenko, Associate Professor of the same department, and Volodymyr Bakhmat and Oleksandra Mykhailovska, cadets of the ERI No. 3.

Serhii Shatrava, Head of the Research Laboratory for Pre-trial Investigation of the ERI No. 1, took part in the meeting of the competition commission in the nomination “Methods, methodological recommendations (guidelines)” of the Contest for the Best Scientific, Scientific and Technical and Career Guidance Products.

The two-day event, which took place in Odesa, was attended by Oleksii Serdiuk, Head of the Research Laboratory of Social and Psychological Support, Support and Rehabilitation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the ERI №3 (NCPs in the field of “Civilian Security for Society”).

Participants of the Tactical and Special Training Department of the ERI #2 discussed and approved plans for scientific work and field training for the next six months. The scientific supervisor of the group, Associate Professor of the department Ihor Vlasenko drew attention to the updating of priority areas of scientific research, taking into account the challenges of the legal regime of martial law.

Under this title, the I International Scientific and Practical Conference was held in Munich (Germany), which was attended by online higher education students of the ERI №4 Kyrylo Chukalov, Ivan Tsurkan, Roman Stetsyk and Karina Kolesnyk. They presented a number of scientific papers that were highly praised by the international scientific community.

Kseniia Yurtaieva, Associate Professor of the Department of Criminal Law and Criminology, Institute of Criminal Justice, participated in the Scholars at Risk Program during 2022-2024 with the support of the Weiser Center for Europe and Eurasia, University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA).

Olena Makarova, Associate Professor of the Department, Candidate of Psychological Sciences, Associate Professor, emphasized the importance of the role of the scientific club in the training of future specialists. She noted that scientific research provides an opportunity for higher education students to study the theoretical aspects of forensic science and gain practical skills.

At the first meeting of the group in the academic year 2024-2025, the Head of the Department, Doctor of Law, Professor Yurii Orlov made a welcoming speech, emphasizing the strategic importance of scientific support for combating crime by criminological and criminal law means.
