Dear Ukrainians! Dear people! Today is the Independence Day of Ukraine. I am here now, in the heart of Kyiv, on Independence Square. And it is here that one best feels what independence is, why it is so important to us. And why Maidan is much more than the main square of the country. Because it is a symbol - a symbol of independence, its guardian.

The Minister of Internal Affairs congratulated Ukrainians on Ukraine's Independence Day on his official Telegram channel. Ihor Klymenko noted that 34 years ago, Ukraine made its choice - to be a free and independent state. Today, this choice is confirmed every day by our people.

Dear colleagues, cadets, students, university veterans!
I sincerely congratulate you on the main state holiday - the Independence Day of Ukraine!
This day is a symbol of the eternal aspiration of the freedom-loving Ukrainian people for freedom, the right to independently choose their own path and live with dignity and peace in their own state.

The Day of the National Flag and the Day of Independence of Ukraine are a memory of the generations of our ancestors who fought for the right to live in their own state - free and independent Ukraine. The raising of the National Flag accompanied by the Anthem of Ukraine traditionally opens all the celebrations held at the university.

The celebration of Independence Day of Ukraine has its own history and prehistory. During the Soviet era, the Ukrainian diaspora in the West organized festive events for the event “Independence Day of Ukraine”, which was celebrated by Ukrainians abroad on January 22 – the anniversary of the Act of Unity of Ukraine.

KhNUIA cadets joined a patriotic event held on Taras Shevchenko Square in Vinnytsia. They put flowers at the memorial sign of the Heavenly Hundred and the fallen Heroes of the Russian-Ukrainian War, honoring the memory of those who gave their lives for the independence and freedom of Ukraine.

On the occasion of the 34th anniversary of Ukraine's Independence, a meaningful program was organized for the first-year students of the camp, which combined learning about history, getting acquainted with cultural heritage, and active recreation. All this helped the young people to better understand the importance of national culture and traditions.

On the occasion of the Independence Day of Ukraine, students at all locations of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs put flowers at the monuments to the Heroes who gave their lives for the territorial integrity and independence of our state.
