Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs held a sports and patriotic holiday dedicated to the National Flag Day and Independence Day of Ukraine at all locations. The event was attended by freshmen of the university's educational and research institutes No. 1-4 and Sumy branch, who are currently undergoing camp training.

On August 23, every year since 2004, Ukraine has honored one of its three key state symbols, the blue and yellow flag. It is also a national symbol. A symbol of our Ukrainian identity. A symbol of the struggle for freedom. The blue and yellow combination was established as the Ukrainian national colors during the European "Spring of Nations" in the 19th century.
Today, August 23, on the Day of the National Flag of Ukraine, the largest flag of the city and region was raised on the Castle Hill in Vinnytsia. Representatives of the university's ceremonial team took part in the festivities.
On the occasion of the National Flag Day, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy took part in the ceremony of raising the Ukrainian flag. The Head of State noted that the blue and yellow flag unites many generations who fought for Ukraine, liberated Ukrainian land from invaders and dreamed of independence.
August 23 is a special day for each of us. It is impossible not to be proud of Kharkiv: it is invincible, it is a Hero, it is the Pride of Ukraine! Kharkiv is at the forefront of the fight for the territorial integrity of our country.
